Unrevealed Carer: Life as a Social Carer

Hey so I'm a social care worker in Ireland.
I really wanted to set this up so that students studying social care, other social care workers and just anyone interested in general and can read and talk about social care. Due to confidentiality reasons I cant say my name, the company I work for or of course any of my clients names.

Social care is one of the most difficult things I have ever done in my life and I'm only 19...!
Basically bitta background information; I had always had my heart set on nursing. I did my Leaving certificate in 2011, didn't get the course I wanted so didn't have a clue what to do. I started on a work experience placement in social care and I'm so serious when I say this but I fell in love with it after my first day :).
My job is to look after adults and adolescents with Aspergers syndrome and intellectual disabilities in a residential unit. And it is amazing! So yeah; after my work experience I applied for a full time job and that's where I am now nearly a year later.

In my next blog I'll be going into a lot more detail, go through a daily routine and if anyone has any experience or would like to ask anything please feel free to email me at unreavealedcarer@gmail.com I'd love to be of any assistance and it would be great if anyone would like to guest post..!
